The 2024 Tour de France will finish in Nice, France for the first time in history! You will have VIP access at a stage start and at the finish of the final stage in Nice. In addition to the excellent access to the race, you will have a tour in Nice. You will receive gifts from the Tour de France and from Custom Getaways.
This trip is designed for spectators, so it is perfect for anyone who loves pro-cycling and wants to experience the Tour de France and the first ever finish outside of Paris. Another unique feature of this year’s Tour is that the final stage will be a time trial from Monaco to Nice, so the winner could be determined on stage 21. This trip includes VIP grand stands from which to view stage 21 in Nice.
Welcome to France! We will be meeting in the lobby of our group hotel in the late afternoon. Our 4-star hotel has a great location in the city of Nice. We will spend three nights at our hotel….close to the busy energy of le Tour.
Tonight we’ll enjoy our welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant. In addition to meeting our fellow travel guests at dinner, we’ll go over the itinerary for our trip. Each guest will receive a gift from Custom Getaways and from Tour de France. You will also receive a discount card to be used on official le Tour merchandise.
After breakfast we will head to the Start Village of today’s stage. You will love the energy of the start of this year’s Tour de France. You will have VIP access to the Start Village with coffee, snacks, tour officials and merchandise tents. You will also be able to see the riders interviewed at the sign-in stage.
Another great feature of the start village is that you will have access to the team bus paddock. You can walk around the team busses and cars before the race begins. However, you need to be careful as the racers will ride around you to get to the sign-in stage and to the starting line…a really cool experience!
Once the racers depart, we will grab a light lunch and as a group, tour the sights in Nice. Vieux Nice (Old Town) is one of the most popular and vibrant places to visit in Nice. You will see some of the most famous and historical buildings while wandering around Vieux Nice.
Tonight we will enjoy a farewell dinner with our new friends and views of the Mediterranean.
You will have some free time this morning to enjoy the city of Nice. If you’re interested in hiking, Castle Hill is on the eastern end of Promenade des Anglais and it is one of the most amazing things to do in Nice. As the name implies, there is a “castle” ruin on top of the hill, overlooking the city, the Mediterranean coast, and the Nice Port. If you wish to stay on flat surfaces, we recommend one of many local markets sprinkled around the city of Nice.
In the afternoon, we will meet as a group and walk to our VIP venue to view the final stage of this year’s Tour de France. This day is a very rare final stage time trial from Monaco to Nice, so the winner could be determined today!
Your trip includes the VIP grand stands venue where you will see the riders pass two times….one time on the grandstand side, one time on the other side of the road. The venue offers beer, soft drinks and water. The excitement will build as the caravan passes before the racers pass throughout the afternoon as they try their hardest on the time trial.
This promises to be the most exciting stage 21 in many years. Once the race finishes, you will be on your own to enjoy the sights and sounds of Nice.
Check out of your hotel by noon or extend your stay in Nissa la Bella/Nice the Beautiful.
You are responsible for your transfer from the hotel.
Custom Getaways hopes you have amazing memories of this unique experience. We hope to see you again soon.
Au revoir!
