Welcome to Switzerland & France! We will be picking up the group at the Geneva, Switzerland airport (GVA) mid-afternoon. Our hotel in the Alps has a pool and amazing views that will be home for three nights and is located near the race activities for the next few days. Your guides will help you fit your rental bikes before you take a short ride to shake off the dust from traveling.

Tonight we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant. In addition to meeting our fellow travel guests at dinner, we’ll go over the itinerary for our trip. Each guest will receive a jersey, water bottle, and a gift from Custom Getaways and from the Tour de France. You will also receive a discount card for 30% off official le Tour merchandise.

Day 02

VIP race viewing of ITT along the course

Date Tuesday, July 18 Hotel Location Cordon

After breakfast we will get ready to ride and mount up for a nice ride. The longer ride will be approximately 55 kilometers and the shorter ride will be about 35 kms. This is a rolling day with several hundred meters of elevation gain. We will ride on the course for part of this ride to the Relais Etape VIP venue!

This venue is located along the course and serves an excellent 4-course meal with water, soft drinks, beer, wine and champagne. Another nice feature of this venue is that the caravan passes right in front and throws gifts to the crowds. After the caravan passes, you will have a great view of the racers as they pass. Today is a 22km Individual Time Trial which includes the famous Domancy climb…a unique way to watch today’s stage.

Dinner is not included tonight after the big lunch, so it is a perfect opportunity to relax at the hotel and enjoy the magnificent views.

Day 03

Ride on the course, cross the line, podium pictures and view finish in VIP venue

Date Wednesday, July 19 Hotel Location Cordon

Today will be a real highlight…riding in the Alps and crossing the finish line! Today will be a shorter ride at about 40 kilometers and 1,500 meters of elevation gain. This climb has gorgeous views and will finish at the Courchevel altiport, a 18% runway gradient. We will ride on the official course and ride across the finish line.

After the ride, will tour the official podium and have pictures taken individually and as a group. We’ll view the finish of Stage 17 in the Izoard VIP venue. Located near the finish line, this venue has snacks, drinks, beer, champagne, TVs and private restrooms…a great way to see the race!

We will enjoy another group dinner tonight where we can discuss the race and other events of the day.

Day 04

Ride in the Alps and transfer to Switzerland

Date Thursday, July 20 Hotel Location Geneva area

Good morning. Today we’ll head towards Switzerland. The rides will be roughly 70 kms for the longer ride and 50 kms for the shorter ride. Elevation gain will be close to 800 meters. After our ride, we will find a place to eat lunch and be on our way to our next destination, Switzerland.

We’ll enjoy a group dinner with local dishes and wine.

Day 05

VIP access to Start Village and transfer to Paris

Date Friday, July 21 Hotel Location Paris

This morning we start with a race viewing before we cycle. You will have VIP access to the Start Village with coffee, snacks, tour officials and merchandise tents. You will also be able to see the riders interviewed at the sign-in stage before they begin their race.

After we see the racers depart, we will grab a light lunch and after a quick change, we will take a ride toward Paris. The longer ride will be about 60 kilometers and the shorter ride about 45 kilometers. Only a few hundred meters of elevation gain today. After the ride, we will make the 5 hour bus ride to Paris.

We will stop along the way for a comfort break and to eat dinner before arriving late into Paris.

Day 06

Tour in Paris and private viewing of race on river cruise

Date Saturday, July 22 Hotel Location Paris

We are planning a tour or activity this morning in Paris. We don’t know exactly what it will be until closer to the time, but we are considering an e-bike tour of Paris. This tour provides many little known secrets in addition to several of the famous Paris landmarks. We will keep you posted on this.

After our activity, we’ll transfer to the river for a cruise. We’ll enjoy a late lunch with drinks as we watch the finish of today’s stage on TV, while cruising on the River Seine. Sights you’ll see along the way include Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. After the race finishes, we’ll head back to the hotel where you’ll have the evening free.

No group dinner tonight as you may wish to stop at a cafe for a bite or indulge in a gourmet dinner at Foquet’s. Bon Appétit!

Day 07

Tour de France finish in Paris!

Date Sunday, July 23 Hotel Location Paris

After an incredibly packed itinerary for the last several days, you will have some free time this morning in Paris. We will meet around 14:00 to walk to our VIP venue to view the final stage of le Tour in Paris.

We will be in the Izoard VIP located at the bottom of the Champs Elysees at Place de la Concord for the final stage. This venue has great food and drinks and will serve champagne to toast the winner of the Tour de France. Another nice feature of this venue is that the team buses park nearby and you can walk around the buses and see the racers as they return.

After the finish, you can make your way back to the hotel. This is a great walk along the Champ Elysees as the crowd is energetic from witnessing the finish of the race.
