July 19th – July 25th, 2022 • cycling
This trip is our most popular option for cyclists as the riding is great and you have the best VIP access to the Tour de France plus the finish in Paris. We will pick up at the Toulouse airport, then head into the Pyrenees mountains. You will ride in the Pyrenees and have VIP access to the Tour at a stage start, along the course and at a stage finish.
One of the highlights of this trip is the climb up the Col du Tourmalet. In addition to being one of the most iconic climbs in the world of cycling, the scenery is beautiful and you will have a great story to tell your friends and family. Another highlight is the finish of the Tour in Paris. You will be in the middle of the excitement on the Champs-Élysées as you watch the racers pass 16 times in front of you on their way to the finish of the race.
You will enjoy very nice 4-star accommodations and a very high level of support during your rides. As always, we allow non-cycling partners on our trips and they will enjoy the same VIP access to the race. We can’t wait for you to join us!
Welcome to France! We will be picking up at the Toulouse airport (TLS) in the afternoon. We check into our hotel, get fitted for your bike and take a short ride to shake off the dust from traveling. We will enjoy our welcome dinner and get acquainted.
Each guest will receive gifts from Custom Getaways, including a cycling jersey, and a gift from the Tour de France. You will also receive a discount card for 30% off official le Tour merchandise.
Following a hearty breakfast and checking out of our hotel, we’ll transfer closer to our first ride in the Pyrenees. Part of our ride today will be on the stage course as we head to our VIP venue, Relais Etape. This ride will be between 40 and 60 kilometers and less than 600 meters of elevation gain. We always offer different riding distances for our guests, so you will feel comfortable with the speed and distance of the rides.
Your guides provide a high level of support with drinks, water, energy bars, gels, etc. for the rides. A sag van will follow the riders for support during most rides.
The venue will serve a 4-course meal with soft drinks, beer, wine and champagne. There are TV’s and commentators to describe the action (mostly in French) until the races pass in front of us. The atmosphere is electric in anticipation of the racers and their entourage. To add to the excitement, a caravan/parade passes ahead of the race and tosses gifts and gadgets to the crowd.
Once the race has finished, we’ll head to Lourdes, which will be home for the next three nights. You’ll have a chance to stroll through town and find a place for dinner.

We will ride on the race course up the world famous Hautacam and cross the finish line before the pros.
