Dordogne & Paris Spectator Short
VIP access to 3 stages, Tour finish in Paris
This trip is our most popular option for spectators. You will enjoy outstanding VIP access to the Tour de France. We will pick up at the Toulouse airport and tour the Airbus factory or the city of Toulouse before we head into the Pyrenees mountains. You will have VIP access to the Tour at a stage start, along the course and at a stage finish.
One highlight of this trip is a mountain top finish at Peyragudes, which has been featured in many Tours over the years. Another highlight is the finish of the Tour in Paris. You will be in grandstands on the Champs-Élysées, where you will view the racers pass 8 time directly in front of you and 8 times on the other side of the road. We can’t wait for you to join us!
Welcome to France! We will be picking up at the Toulouse airport (TLS) in the afternoon. The Airbus factory is located on the Toulouse airport property and you will tour the facility where they assemble the A380 double-decker jet. This activity will be dependent on the factory being open, of course, as it was closed during COVID. Another great option we have is a guided tour through the highlights of Toulouse, also known as Le Ville Rose (the Pink City).
After the tour, we will enjoy our welcome dinner and get acquainted with our guide and the other members of our group.
Each guest will receive a gift from Custom Getaways and a gift from the Tour de France. You will also receive a discount card for 30% off official le Tour merchandise.
Following breakfast, we will hit the ground running. We’ll transfer into the Pyrenees and straight up the Peyragudes climb. We will tour the podium and have pictures taken individually and as a group. This is always a favorite experience of our guests.
We will enter the Izoard VIP venue to view the finish of today’s stage. This venue is located near the finish line and offers finger food, soft drinks, beer, wine and champagne. It also features TVs, air-conditioning and private restrooms…a great way to view the race! We will see how the racers, including the best climbers do as they tackle the steep gradients towards the finish at the small, mountainous airport.
Our hotel in Lourdes is ideally located and you will have the evening free to stroll the town and find a place for dinner.
The town will be bustling as the start of Stage 18 will begin in the city of Lourdes…a short walk from your hotel. We will enjoy the energy of the start before we transfer to our next VIP venue.
The venue will serve a 4-course meal with soft drinks, beer, wine and champagne. There are TV’s and commentators to describe the action (mostly in French) until the races pass in front of us. The atmosphere is electric in anticipation of the racers and their entourage. To add to the excitement, a caravan/parade passes ahead of the race and tosses gifts and gadgets to the crowd.
If you are still hungry after the big lunch, you can find a place for dinner once we return to the hotel. We suggest you try the cassoulet, the local specialty.
The town of Castelnau-Magnoac will be our destination this morning. Our VIP venue is at the Start Village. You’ll enjoy finger foods, drinks and will be able to view the racers line up as they are announced for the start of Stage 19.
This afternoon, we’ll tour the magnificent cathedral and the world-famous grotto. Both of these sites are located near our hotel in Lourdes.
Our evening meal will be a group dinner at the hotel.
Following breakfast, we’ll pack up and train up to Paris to prepare for the finish of the Tour. The train ride will be about 4.5 hours.
With an afternoon arrival, we’ll head to a restaurant or bar to have a viewing party of the final Individual Time Trial. This stage will be the last chance for racers to make a move before tomorrow’s ride into Paris.
Appetizers and drinks will be served as we watch the racers perform this solo discipline after three weeks of racing. It will be a test to see who still has gas in the tank.
We’ll Metro to our hotel, located just a few blocks to the Arc de Triomphe. You will have the evening free to explore the area and enjoy a Parisian dinner.
Good morning Paris! Lace up your comfy walking shoes because you’ll get your steps in today. You’ll have some free time this morning to explore before we meet to walk to the Eiffel Tower. We will be served an excellent lunch with magnificent views of Paris.
Following lunch, the group will walk to your VIP venue on the Champs-Élysées, where you will view the finish of the Tour de France in the Grand Palais grandstands. The grandstands offer beer and soft-drinks and you will receive a gift from le Tour.
The racers will pass directly in front of you 8 time and 8 times on the other side of the famed, cobble-stoned road…an experience you won’t soon forget!
Check out of your hotel by noon or extend your stay in the City of Light.
Guests are responsible for their transfer to their next destination.
