The Yellow Jersey is a cycling trip that features some of the most iconic regions of France: the Pyrenees mountains, Bordeaux and the finish of le Tour in Paris.
This trip offers amazing cycling in the Pyrenees including climbs such as Col du Tourmalet. You will also have the opportunity to cross the finish line and have pictures on the podium. We will enjoy VIP access to the race at the start, along the course and at a stage finish.
Non-riders are welcome on our cycling trips and will enjoy the same VIP access. This trip includes a VIP venue on the Champs Élysées in Paris to view the final stage and a dinner cruise on the River Seine after the race ends in Paris.
Welcome to France! In the afternoon, we will pick up at the Toulouse (TLS) airport. From there, we’ll make our way to our hotel nearby. Your guides will help assemble your bike or help get your bike fitted (for those renting) and the group will go for a short ride of about 20-30 kilometers to shake off the dust from traveling.
You will find our guides to be excellent cyclists and a pleasure to be around. Our team of guides has been incredibly stable and is among the most experienced in the industry.
At our welcome dinner, we will get acquainted with our fellow group members and the guides will go over the plan for the upcoming week. You will receive a Tour de France gift bag which will include a cycling jersey from Custom Getaways.
The Start Village in Muret will be our destination this morning. The Start Village is always a favorite of our guests. You will have VIP access to the sponsor area with food and coffee and the sign-in stage. Bring your cameras…this is a great opportunity to get pictures of your favorite riders as you will be able to see the racers start the stage.
We will ride south, toward the Pyrenees for about 70 kilometers on flat to hilly terrain…a great way to warm up for the mountains.
After checking into our hotel, you will be able to explore the town, including the world famous grotto, and find a place for dinner.
Today we ride the world famous Col du Tourmalet before the pros. We can ride from our hotel and back about 90 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1,400 meters. This world famous climb is known for its difficulty and beautiful scenery.
We can either watch the pros on the climb before heading back to town or ride back to town and avoid the waiting on the mountain. You can decide what you want to do with your guides. We will have another group dinner tonight in Lourdes.
We will enjoy scenic views all morning today as we ride towards the finish of today’s stage. We will ride on the course and cross the finish line as a group. This will be a short ride of about 40 kilometers. After crossing the line, we will have the opportunity to claim the podium and get pictures to memorialize our victory.
After lunch, we will enter the Izoard VIP venue. This area is located close to the finish line and has air-conditioning, private restrooms, food, drinks, and TVs to follow the action. This is a great way to watch the race until the racers pass right in front of you on the way to the finish line.
Today is a real treat. We will ride on the course to our next location called Relais Etape for lunch and to watch the race. This will be a flat to hilly ride of nearly 80 kilometers.
Relais Etape is a VIP hospitality tent set up along the course. The caravan throws out small prizes before the racers arrive and to help to build an electric atmosphere before the racers pass right in front of us. We will be served an excellent, 4-course lunch with wine and champagne to toast the winner. The Tour de France also provides a gift to each guest in the Relais Etape tent.
Following the stage, we will waste no time to catch our train to Paris.
You will have the morning free to rest or do sight-seeing in Paris. Around mid-afternoon, the grandstands and hospitality tents will open. You have been upgraded to the Rive Gauche VIP venue, located before the finish line. This VIP venue offers catered food, open bar, TVs and a private terrace to view the race.
You will have an excellent vantage point from which to view the finish of the 2021 Tour de France. You will see the riders pass 16 times on the Champs Élysées.
After the finish, we will walk over to the River Seine for a dinner cruise. This is a great way to finish our trip with outstanding scenery, great food, wine and new friends.
Check-out of your hotel by noon or extend you stay in the City of Lights. Guests are responsible for their own transfer from the hotel. There is an airport shuttle bus located very close to your hotel if needed. We hope to see you again soon.
