4-Star Paris Weekend
Weekend in Paris for the Grand finale
Our packages with VIP access let you live the greatest races in cycling from the inside. Imagine riding across the finish line on closed roads with crowds cheering you on, climbing the official podium or taking a selfie with your favorite rider! You've dreamed of a trip to the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia or the Vuelta a España; we can help you make it happen in the comfort of VIP venues!
The 2020 Tour de France will start in beautiful Nice, on the French Riviera, with 2 stages featuring this historic city. Stage 2 will be very exciting with a route that combines 3 climbs with views of the ocean. You will view the finish of this early mountain stage from our VIP area near the finish line. You will also attend the team presentation, visit team hotels, have pictures taken on the podium and have VIP access to the start village of the Grand Depart. This trip is designed for non-cyclists, so it is perfect for anyone who loves pro cycling and wants to experience the start of the Tour de France! While in the Provence region, we will also visit Aix en Provence and see quaint towns and sites such as a winery tour. This trip is an unusual combination of outstanding access to the Tour de France and great sightseeing in the Provence region of southern France!
We will be picking up at the Nice airport (NCE) in the early afternoon. Before the team presentation, we’ll explore the town and soak up the excitement. We will watch the team presentation, which is always a spectacular show! Following the presentation, we’ll check-in to our hotel, located on the world famous Promenade des Anglais, enjoy our welcome dinner and get acquainted.
Each guest will receive gifts from Custom Getaways and from le Tour de France as well as the ever popular, official road book. You will also receive a discount card for 25% off official le Tour merchandise.
It is possible to upgrade to a room with sea view and balcony. Additional fees apply.
There is always a day between the team presentation and the start of the Tour de France.
We will grab our official road books and head out to some of the team hotels and try to catch the riders as they leave for their practice rides. This is a great opportunity to see the racers in a more relaxed mood. Team mechanics and officials may give away team water bottles or let us tour the mechanic’s bus if we’re lucky.
We will drive a little farther north into the Provence region to experience a winery tour and tasting together. This region is known for their Rosès, which are perfect for the warm weather in southern France.
Tonight you will have the evening free to explore beautiful Nice and find a place for dinner.
The first stage of the 2020 Tour de France will begin in Nice, near where we are staying.
We are very pleased to have secured VIP access to the start village for the Grand Depart of this year’s Tour. We will be able to walk “behind the lines” in the team bus area and see the team’s bikes lined up to start the race. We will also have a better view of the sign-in stage!
After the riders depart, you will be able to get some lunch before taking the afternoon to explore Nice, walk the beach, swim in the Mediterranean or relax at the hotel.
We will enjoy local cuisine together at our group dinner.
Having a mountain stage this early in the Tour is very unusual–it has the potential to separate the field very early, so this will be one of the highlights of this year’s Tour de France!
Once we arrive near the finish line, we have the privilege of touring the finish area and having pictures taken on the podium. After the podium, we have secured VIP access in the “Izoard” venue usually located 50 to 100 yards from the finish line. The Izoard is among the more exclusive areas at stage finishes where drinks and snacks are served while you watch the riders perform live as well as on the big screen TV. Champagne will be served to celebrate today’s stage winner.
You will have free time this evening, in the city, to see the sights and find a cool place for dinner.
Today we will drive to our final VIP venue called Relais Etape. This VIP venue is located along the route and serves an excellent, 4-course lunch with wine. Champagne will be served at the end to toast the stage winner. Each Relais Etape guest will receive a gift from le Tour.
We will see the caravan/parade pass and collect as many prizes as possible as the excitement builds for the race. The racers will pass right in front of us as we cheer them to victory.
We will check-in to our hotel in Aix en Provence, located right in the center of this charming town. We will enjoy our final dinner together and share memories from the last few days.
Your guides will drop you at the Aix en Provence train station this morning. The Aix en Provence TGV station offers excellent train service to Paris.
We hope to see you again soon!
