Welcome to Spain! We’ll be picking up at the Sevilla Santa Justa train station in the early afternoon. Our trip will begin with a private viewing of today’s stage in a suburb of Sevilla. We have an excellent venue for our welcome lunch with authentic Spanish food and drinks. We will eat and view the stage on TV until we go out to the course to see the racers pass right in front of us!
After checking-in to our hotel, our guides will explain the plan for the coming week and we will receive gifts from Custom Getaways including a cycling jersey. Our hotel has a great location and you can walk to some local tapas bars for a small bite after our big lunch.

We will start the day by fitting our rental bikes with help from our guides The cyclists will ride through the area around Sevilla. This is flat terrain, so it will be a great way to warm up. The longer ride will be about 70 kilometers and the shorter ride will be close to 50 kilometers. Only a couple hundred meters of elevation gain today. The non-cyclists will tour the sights in Sevilla.
After the ride, we will drive to our next hotel in the Toledo region south of Madrid. We are staying at a golf resort, so you may want to rent some clubs and play 9 holes. You can explore the area and find a place for dinner with some of your new friends.

This morning we will depart our hotel and ride toward the finish of today’s stage on Alto de Piornal. This is a mountain top finish and will be a fun challenge with over 900 meters of elevation gain. Our ride will cover a shorter distance of close to 50 kms.
We will ride on the race course and cross the finish line. Following our ride, we will tour the podium area and get pictures on the podium to celebrate our victory! Our passes will allow us entry to the VIP venue near the finish line where we will experience the race in comfort with food, drinks, private restrooms and TVs to view the action until the racers pass directly in front of us!
After the finish, we will head back to our hotel and enjoy a group dinner together.
Today we visit the start village in Talavera de la Reina. We will walk around the village, where you can watch the riders sign in for the day and walk around the team bus area. With our VIP access, we will see the racers at the starting line as they depart.
This is always one of the favorite activities for our guests as you see the racers come out of the team buses and jump on their bikes. Some guests get autographs and pictures with the pros.
After the racers depart, we will ride approximately 70 kms on flat terrain toward our next stop in Segovia. Our hotel has a great location and you will be able to explore the area and find a cool spot for tapas or other local fare.

25/08 – La Vuelta 21 – Etapa 11 – Antequera-Valdepenas de Jaen. Thomas Pidcock
Today we will do a little tour of Segovia and see one of the best-preserved Roman aqueducts in the world. We will ride from Segovia to the finish of today’s stage on the mountain top of Puerto de Navacerrada. This ride will have some real elevation gain of around 1,100 meters. We will ride for 40 to 50 kilometers, then view the finish in the VIP venue, near the finish line.
This mountain top stage should be very important and may well determine the winner of this year’s Vuelta a Espana.
We should arrive back in Madrid in time for you to explore some of the sites in the city center. Don’t miss the Plaza Major, known as one of the most beautiful plazas in Spain.
