4 Star Paris Weekend
Weekend in Paris for the Grand finale
Our packages with VIP access let you live the greatest races in cycling from the inside. Imagine riding across the finish line on closed roads with crowds cheering you on, climbing the official podium or taking a selfie with your favorite rider! You've dreamed of a trip to the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia or the Vuelta a España; we can help you make it happen in the comfort of VIP venues!
This is a cycling trip that will follow the same itinerary as our original Yellow Jersey trip that has sold out. Cycling and VIP race viewing will be the same, but a couple of the hotels will be different. It features some of the most iconic regions of France: Provence, the Alps and the finish of le Tour in Paris. This trip offers amazing cycling in Provence and the Alps including climbs such as Mont Ventoux, Telegraph and Galibier. You will also have the opportunity to cross the finish line and have pictures on the podium!
We will enjoy VIP access to the race at the start, along the course and at a stage finish. Non-riders are welcome as well and will enjoy the same VIP access. This trip includes a VIP venue on the Champs Élysées in Paris to view the final stage and a dinner cruise on the River Seine after the race ends in Paris.
We will be picking up at the AvignonTGV train station in the early afternoon and will make our way to our hotel. After checking-in to our hotel and getting our bikes fitted, we’ll take a short ride to shake off the dust from traveling.
Our guides are excellent cyclists and a pleasure to be around. They will help with bike assembly and fitting our rental bikes to your specs. Our team of guides has been incredibly stable and is among the most experienced in the industry!
At our welcome dinner, we will get acquainted with our fellow group members and the guides will go over the plan for the upcoming week. You will receive a Tour de France gift bag which will include a cycling jersey from Custom Getaways and a road book from le Tour.
We will start the day with a ride through the countryside of Provence. We’ll ride to the town of Nimes for the circuit stage that starts and finishes in the same town.
After lunch, we will be able to find a strategic location to watch the race with the crowds in Nimes. This is always exciting as we we will see the caravan pass and throw out prizes before the racers pass in front of us!
Following the stage, we’ll enjoy a relaxing group dinner at our hotel.
Today we will do some serious riding as we tackle the Giant of Provence, Mont Ventoux! Although the ride will only be about 60 kms, we will gain over 2,000 meters in elevation today. This climb has been featured in many Tour de France stages. Most recently in 2016 when Chris Froome crashed into a motorcycle and ran up the mountain carrying his bike.
We’re not going to ride the 206 kilometers that the pros will ride, so we’ll jump in the van at some point and make the rest of the transfer to the Albertville area in the Alps.
Tonight you’ll be on your own to explore the area and have dinner.
Today is a real treat. We will ride from our hotel over 55 kms today through a few valleys then up the amazing climb of the Col du Galibier at 2,642 meters. After the climb, we will ride to Relais Etape for lunch and to watch the race.
Relais Etape is a VIP hospitality tent set up along the course. The caravan throws out small prizes before the racers arrive and to help to build an electric atmosphere. We will be served an excellent lunch with wine and champagne to toast the winner. The Tour de France also provides a gift to each guest in the Relais Etape tent.
After the finish of the stage, we will drive back to our hotel where you can rest and have the evening free.
We will enjoy scenic views all morning today as we ride towards Montee de Tignes at 2,089 meters.
After the climb, we will ride on the course and cross the finish line as a group! After crossing the line, we will have the opportunity to claim the podium and get pictures to memorialize our victory. We’ll enjoy the finish of today’s stage in the cheering crowds of the climb.
After the podium, we will enter the Izoard VIP venue. This area is located close to the finish line and has air-conditioning, food, drinks, and TVs to follow the action. This is a great way to watch the race until the racers pass right in front of you on the way to the finish line!
Group dinner tonight.
We will start the day with a visit to the start village in Albertville. This is always a favorite of our guests. You will have VIP access to the sponsor area with food and coffee, the sign-in stage and the team bus area. Bring your cameras…this is a great opportunity to get pictures of your favorite riders.
After grabbing some lunch, we will be heading to the train station for our train to Paris.
In Paris, you will have the evening free to explore and find a place for dinner. We will be staying in a great location close to the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Élysées and a metro station.
You will have the morning free to rest or do more sight-seeing in Paris. At 3:00 PM the grandstands and hospitality tents will open. Access to the Izoard hospitality venue is included in your package. This VIP venue has food, TVs, beer and a great location at the bottom of the Champs Élysées.
You will have an excellent vantage point from which to view the finish of the 2019 Tour de France. You will see the riders pass in front of you 8 times on the Champs Élysées.
After the finish, we will walk over to the River Seine for a dinner cruise. This is a great way to finish our trip with great food, wine and new friends.
Check-out of your hotel by noon or extend you stay in the City of Lights! There is an airport shuttle bus located very close to your hotel if needed. We hope to see you again soon.
