This is a short VIP trip for both cyclists and spectators. It will feature the beautiful Alsace region of northern France and the first mountain top finish of this year’s Tour de France on Planche de Belle Filles! This trip is a perfect choice for anyone wanting to see some great cycling, including the first mountain stage of the year, ride in some beautiful locations and stay close to Paris. We will begin the trip with a ride through the Alsace region and find a place to view the race from the side of the road.

On the second day, we will ride up Planche de Belle Filles and ride across the finish line. The spectators will join us at the finish line and the whole group will be able to take pictures on the podium before viewing the finish of the stage from our VIP location near the finish. For our 3rd day, we have VIP access to the start village, which includes the team bus area and to see the start of the day’s stage. After the racers depart, our cyclists will have their final ride while the spectators tour the gorgeous town of Colmar, where we will tour the town via boat or town tram.

Day 01

Arrival in Strasbourg

Date Wednesday, July 10 Hotel Location Strasbourg

We will be picking up at Gare de Strasbourg train station in the early afternoon. The riders will get their bikes fitted and ride through the Alsace region. The spectators will have a chance to visit Strasbourg, including its famous Cathedral de Notre-Dame.

Our hotel is conveniently located where we will check-in and enjoy our welcome dinner together. Each guest will receive gifts from Custom Getaways and from the Tour de France. Your guides will go over the plan for the next few days.


Day 02

Mountain top finish on Planche de Belle Filles

Date Thursday, July 11 Hotel Location Colmar

Today the cyclists will leave early for a ride through the hills of Alsace, then a climb up Planche de Belle Filles. They will be able to ride on the course and cross the finish line!

The spectators will have some free time in the morning before the 3-hour drive to the finish of today’s stage. They will meet up with the cyclists at the finish line and climb the podium for pictures.

After the podium, we will have VIP access to the Izoard hospitality venue.  This venue will be located on the climb that hits 25% gradient at one point!  It is located close to the finish line and will allow us to enjoy air-conditioning, TVs to follow the race, food, beer and champagne to toast the winner.

Tonight we’ll be staying in Colmar, a beautiful little town where you can find a restaurant on the canal for dinner.

Day 03

VIP access to the start village

Date Friday, July 12 Hotel Location Colmar

The start village is always a favorite of our guests. You will have VIP access to the village with finger food and coffee, preferred access to the sign-in stage and access to the team bus area that is off limits to the general public.

After seeing the start of today’s stage, the cyclists will have another great ride through the hills of the Alsace region. The spectators will head east to Colmar for lunch and to explore this beautiful village that has been voted as one of the most picturesque in the world. We will tour the town via boat or town train and will have some free time in the village to shop.

After touring Colmar, we will head to our farewell dinner to compare pictures and stories with our new friends.

Day 04

Au Revoir

Date Saturday, July 13 Hotel Location N/A

We will drop you off at the Gare de Colmar train station in the morning for quick train service to Paris or wherever you choose to go. Farewell until next time!
