Viewing options in Paris
This is a short trip for spectators. It will feature the beautiful Provence region of southern France and a mountain stage in the Alps! This trip is a perfect choice for anyone wanting to see some great cycling, including seeing the start and finish of the stage 16 circuit course through Nimes. We will begin the trip with a visit to team hotels on the rest day. This is always a client favorite as you get to see the racers in a more relaxed environment.
On the second day, we will be able to view the start of the stage and the finish of the day’s stage since it is a circuit course. You will join the locals to cheer your favorite racer. On the third day we will tour a winery in the morning before driving to the Alps with the hopes of stopping roadside to see the race pass.
We will be picking up at the Avignon TGV train station in the morning. We will begin the trip with a visit to team hotels on the rest day. This is always a client favorite as you get to see the racers in a more relaxed environment. We will see the mechanic’s buses and hope to see the pros head out on their practice ride.
In the afternoon, we’ll check-in to our hotel on the outskirts of Avignon. We’ll enjoy a welcome dinner together where you will receive gifts from Custom Getaways and from the Tour de France. Your guide will go over the plan for the upcoming, action filled days.
Today the cyclists will leave from Nimes, ride for 177 kilometers, then finish back in Nimes. We will be able to see the riders sign-in before we see them depart the city. You will have time to have lunch in the city before making your way toward the finish area to find a spot to watch them sprint to the finish!
You’ll have a free evening to explore the city and find a place for dinner with some of your new friends.
Today we will tour a winery in the Provence region and have a tasting. We will then drive toward the Alps. Depending on the route of today’s stage, we will try to find a place to watch the race from the side of the road. It will be a good opportunity to stretch our legs as well as cheer on the racers.
Chambery is a great town in the Alps where our hotel will be located. Tonight we’ll enjoy our final group dinner.
We will drop you off at the Chambery train station in the morning for quick train service to Paris or wherever you choose to go.
Farewell until next time.
