2009 Tour de France
July 4th to July 26th, 2009
What a Tour this promises
to be!!!
Christian Prudhomme has
unveiled an innovative, original and exciting Tour for 2009.
From the “Grand Depart”
start of the race in Monaco, the world’s playground of the rich
and famous, to the stage up Mont Ventoux on July 25th,
just a day before the arrival on the Champs Elysees; the yellow
jersey will no doubt be in contention until the very end!
2009 should also mark the
return of “big names” to the race, all wanting to climb the
highest step of the podium in Paris.
The highlights of the 2009
Tour de France include:
-
Grand depart in beautiful Monaco (Prologue
and 1st stage start)
-
The Team time trial is back by popular
demand! This year in Montpellier.
-
A visit to Spain with stages through
Gerona and Barcelona.
-
Pyrenees (first this year!) mountain top
finish in Andorra and climbs such as….will also be featured.
-
Onto the Vosges Mountains and the
beautiful Alsace wine region in the north east of France
including the Grand Ballon and Ballon d’Alsace climbs.
-
Spectacular Final week with non stop
action: mountain top finish in Verbier, Switzerland
-
2 classic Alpine stages: uphill finish in
Les Arcs and climbs such as….
-
A decisive Time trial around the Lake in
Annecy on the 23rd
-
Incredible Mont Ventoux stage just 1 day
before the arrival on the Champs Elysees.
Custom Getaways will of
course be part of it!

Signature
Series
Trips.
These trips are restricted in the number of people they can
accommodate. Some of the access offered is unprecedented and
unavailable anywhere else. The hotels are always the best
available. These trips tend to sell out first as they offer a
great variety of experience of the Tour and of France. Staff to
guest ratio is about 1 to 3. Non-cyclists are more than welcome
and will be catered to as well. When possible we arrange side
trips while the cyclists are "doing their thing"!
VIP Access includes: riding a stage
of the Tour de France (shorter distances available) and crossing
the finish line under race official escort a few hours ahead of
the pros, photos on the actual podium, visit of riders' area,
press area, technical zones and a lot more.
We will also visit with one of the teams during rest-days.
New in 2009, our Signature Series
trips will include the use of Garmin 705's bike computers/GPS! |

Jersey Trips.
The emphasis is on the Tour de France experience with
various VIP access to stages. Hotels are usually 3* with occasional quality
2* or 4* properties.
Our jersey trips are named for the various distinctive jerseys
worn during the Tour de France. These jerseys are:
|
|
White for the highest ranked
young rider under 25 |
|
|
Green for the rider with most
points (sprinters) |
 |
Polka Dot for the rider with the
most climb/mountain points |
|
|
Yellow for... need we say; the
rider with the lowest combined ride time |
