info@customgetaways.com

This trip is based on 2 people traveling together and sharing a room.

July 19th

The trip starts in Nice where you will pick-up your rental car. We can arrange for other pick-up locations; simply let us know.

You will then head for your first hotel which is actually in Italy - ideally loctaed for the next few days!

This first hotel is basically at the base of the mountain top finish in Prato Nevoso on tomorrow's stage.

- July 20th -

Hotel location: near Cuneo, Italy

Tour Stage 15  /   Digne les Bains  - Prato Nevoso  /  216km (134 miles)

You are ideally located today; basically on the final climb and mountain top finish to Prato Nevoso. Taking a look at the profile of the climb, you will see the Frabosa is at the base of the climb. This is also where your hotel is located... how convenient!

Tour Stage : REST DAY

The Tour takes a day off today and we will offer a few suggestions on places to see and things to do.

Many of the teams will be staying in and around Cuneo, so you will likely encounter team buses in hotel parking lots.

- July 22nd -
Hotel location: Chamrousse
Tour Stage 16  /   Cuneo  - Jausiers  /  157km (97 miles)

Getting from your hotel in Frabosa to Cuneo is simple and will alow you to see a stage start today.

Starts offer great opportunities for pictures and to mingle with the teams and racers warming up (autographs as well?). Tour starts are often a favorite part of our trips as the interaction with the riders/teams is unparalleled.

Given the geographic location of today and tomorrow's stage, there will be a bit a of drive today in order to be on site for tomorrow's all important stage.

- July 23rd -

Hotel location: Chamrousse
Tour Stage 17  /   Pau - Castelsarrasin  /  188km (117 miles)

What an exciting day this promises to be!

Today's stage will finish with the climb to Alpe d'Huez, which is most likely the world's most famous cycling climb.

A win on Alpe d'Huez is every cyclist's dream. in addition this is the final "high mountain" stage of the 2008 Tour and two other monuments of cycling - col du Galibier and col de la Croix de Fer - are also featured today.

We will give you an excellent trick to avoid the huge traffic and use our “secret” way up Alpe d’Huez....You will be able to be at the very top of the climb if you wish...
